Mr. and Miss Scheybal devoted their lives to studying ethnography and folk culture and to preserving monuments and regional history. They continued the family tradition of collecting and managed to create some remarkable art collections and a voluminous library. Josef V Scheybal was an excellent artist and a talented illustrator.

Thanks to Josef V. Scheybal and his wife, the Liberec Region has an abundant collection of scientific and artistic documents on folk art, landscapes and nature.
