The Environmental Education Centre
The Environmental Education Centre provides different services for the public, kindergarten children, primary schools and parents with children. The main aim is to awaken an interest in the environment, to provide information about nature, to promote rural life and to lead children to understand the principles of sustainable development by means of suitable activities and programs (exhibitions, discussions, public lectures, educational programs, contests, creative workshops and thematic excursions).
The Jablonec nad Nisou Cultural and Information Centre has created the conditions to ensure a stable basis for the provision of consultancy, services and other information in the area of environmental education.
The project’s goals:
- the creation of a local (municipal) environmental education centre for young people and for primary and secondary school teachers
- to offer young people alternative ways to spend their leisure time
- to create an attractive place for visitors to the town
- to provide facilities for civil initiatives in the town
