This modified cliff-top observation point (944 m above sea level) with a perfect panoramic view lies at the western edge of Klínový vrch, a short ridge between the valleys of the Hájený Stream and the Smědá River in the Jizera Mountains. Few of the Jizera Mountain peaks could take on Paličník in a fair fight for the crown in a notional beauty competition. Its graceful shape with a rocky crown at its peak stands out best in the view from the White Stream or from the road above Lázně Libverda.
