Vranov or the Pantheon is the ruin of a clifftop castle on the right-hand side of the Jizera River which towers above the municipality of Malá Skála. Only remnants of this late mediaeval clifftop castle, which was the largest fortification of its type in the Czech lands with a length of around four hundred metres, have been preserved. Moreover, they have been covered by a romantic conversion dating from the beginning of the 19 century, thanks to which the site has become a distinctive memorial to various historical personalities. It is a popular destination among hikers due to the beautiful views it offers from its steep precipices, as well as its highly uneven terrain full of stairs, rocky observation points, cellars, various portals and terraces.
