Fishermen will not miss out either. Are you tempted to fish in our Jablonec Sea, as the locals call the local dam? In case you are a member of the Czech Fishing Association and a holder of a fishing licence, you can buy a licence by phone from the manager of the Czech Fishing Association, Mr. Vladimír Jiříček (tel. +420 728 235 618).
If you are not a member of the Association, or if you are a foreign national, you must first obtain a fishing licence and then buy a licence for non-trout or trout waters. You can order a licence by phone at the secretariat of the Czech Fishing Association in Ústí nad Labem from Martina Mihulová at +420 475 531 004. We will advise you on how to proceed. Outside the summer season, contact the Czech Fishing Association’s manager.
- Contact Mrs. Martina Mihulová (tel. +420 475 531 004) to arrange a date for purchasing the permit and the possibility of sending it to your address. Permits cannot currently be purchased at the Tourist Information at the Town Hall.
- You can fill in an application form for a fishing licence at the information centre in the town hall (Municipality).
- You will hand in this application on the ground floor of the town hall (in the information centre of the Jablonec nad Nisou Municipality) and pay the administrative fee. The municipality will process the application as soon as possible and issue the fishing licence.
On the Jablonec dam (Mšeno reservoir) you can fish only in the first largest reservoir. However, it is not allowed to fish directly from the dam and within 100 m of it. However, you can also visit other waters with this permit.
Interesting fact: The west bank of the reservoir is dominated by a giant metal fishing rod. This metal sculpture with the artistic name Udice is the work of sculptor Vratislav K. Novák, among others, the author of the Prague Metronome on Letná. His “rod” at the Jablonec dam is a tribute to Karel Hubáček, a passionate fisherman and the architect of Ještěd.
