The reservoir in Jablonec nad Nisou has also been home to yachtsmen for more than 50 years. It is mainly used for yachting in spring and autumn, so as to avoid any collisions with swimmers in summer. The wind here is very unstable and often changes direction as a result of the surrounding blocks of flats dating from the 1980s. The water surface is suitable for smaller vessels and the members of the Delfín Sports Club or the Sea Scouts train in Optimist class yachts. Larger boats are usually only seen at regattas, approximately twice a year. There is no harbour or pier for launching boats into the water. The use of motorised vessels is strictly prohibited.
The body of water falls under the Elbe Catchment Area Authority.
